Do you take my insurance?

At Lumina Chiropractic, I am an in-network provider with major insurance companies, including: -Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) -ASH network (Cigna, Providence) -United Healthcare (UHC) -MODA -First Choice Health Insurance I am able to submit insurance claims on your behalf for covered chiropractic services. Insurance Coverage Limitations You Should Know: Most insurance plans - especially with companies like BCBS, Premera, PacificSource, and UHC - tend to only cover a limited number of visits. Insurance typically focuses on short-term care for acute injuries, like a lower back strain or whiplash from an auto accident. If you are seeking ongoing wellness care, prenatal chiropractic, or pediatric chiropractic care, insurance may not fully cover these services after the initial acute phase of treatment. Affordable Care with a Time of Service Discount To ensure that you and your family have access to consistent care, I offer a Time of Service Discount for patients paying out-of-pocket. This makes chiropractic care affordable and accessible for: - Wellness & maintenance care - Prenatal visits - Pediatric adjustments - Athletes & active lifestyles Out-of-Network Insurance Reimbursement (Superbills): If I am not currently in-network with your insurance provider, you can still receive care by paying my Time of Service rate. I will provide you with a Superbill, which is a detailed receipt of services you can submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Please note: Out-of-network benefits vary by plan, and there is no guarantee that your insurance will reimburse you for the visit. However, I am happy to assist you with the necessary documentation to file your claim.

What is Webster Technique?

The Webster Technique is a specialized chiropractic method that gently balances the pelvis, sacrum, and surrounding muscles and ligaments. It’s most commonly used during pregnancy to reduce tension and improve pelvic alignment, which can create more space and comfort for both mom and baby. While the Webster Technique is not a method to “turn breech babies,” it helps remove intrauterine constraint, allowing the baby to move into the best possible position for birth. It also helps moms feel better by relieving low back pain, hip discomfort, and improving overall pelvic function. At Lumina Chiropractic in Vancouver, WA, I am Webster Certified through the ICPA and use this gentle, safe technique to support you throughout your pregnancy journey.

Will chiropractic hurt?

Many people wonder if chiropractic adjustments are painful. The good news is that chiropractic care is generally gentle and safe. Most patients experience little to no discomfort during an adjustment. You may feel a quick, precise movement or a gentle stretch as Dr. Lacy realigns your spine and joints. After your adjustment, it’s common to feel some mild soreness or stiffness - similar to how your body might feel after a workout. This usually subsides within 24 to 48 hours as your muscles and joints adjust and begin healing. Drinking plenty of water and resting can help reduce any temporary discomfort. If you have concerns about pain or sensitivity, Dr. Lacy will customize your treatment to ensure your comfort and safety throughout your care.

Do I have chiro insurance benefits?

It’s super easy to check your benefits! Just call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card, and they can walk you through what’s covered. Since my chiropractic visits often include soft tissue work, manual therapy, and even some physical therapy techniques, it’s a good idea to ask whether those are part of your chiropractic benefits or if they fall under a separate physical therapy (PT) benefit. As a courtesy, if you schedule your appointment with at least 24 hours' notice, I’m happy to verify your benefits for you before your visit!

Do you only see moms and babies?

While I have a strong passion for pregnancy and pediatric chiropractic care, I also specialize in treating athletes, active individuals, and everyday people dealing with common issues like back pain. I enjoy working with patients of all ages - from newborns just days old to seniors - helping each person achieve optimal health and wellness at every stage of life.
